Thumbprint :: THURSDAY :: Edible Fingerpaint

More inspiration from my weekend in St. Louis. My newlywed sister and brother-in-law help with the kids service at church sometimes. When we were leaving church last Sunday, she was telling me about how one of the crafts one week was pudding fingerpaint. All these little girls and guys had come to church in their Sunday best. After a few close calls, my sister began to clean up the last of sticky hands (which by the way, the kids of course LOVED the painting!) when she heard her husband tell the last few stragglers, "yeah, just put a little bit in your hair!" Squealing with delight, the kiddos added some sweet mess to their hair. After cleaning up this double mess, he later told my sister that he was only joking and didn't think they would take him seriously. The first of many lessons learned before they have children of their own :)

So with this inspiration, here are some recipes for some fun & tasty finger painting. A great craft for outdoors on a warm summer day. Just keep the wet wipes, hose, or sink nearby!

{Pudding Finger Paint}
-Instant Vanilla Pudding
-Food Coloring
*Mix pudding according to directions on box. Mix in desired color(s). Paint on paper plates.

{Kool-Aid Finger Paint}
-2 cups of flour
-2 packets of unsweetened Kool-Aid mix
-1/2 cup of salt
-3 cups of boiling water
-3 T of oil
*Mix wet into dry. Paint on poster board for a sweet, fun & easy Kool-Aid stand sign.

{Jello Finger Paint}
-Your child's favorite flavor of Jello mix
-Boiling Water
*Mix boiling water into Jello mix until the consistency is that similar to finger paint. Glossy paper or other traditional finger painting paper will work great for this one. Smells and tastes great too!

Have a "finger lickin' good" time!
